Viscount Leverhulme Council No. 263 Meeting 20th December 2021
Due to the Covid Pandemic the Council was considerable down in numbers but a very interesting meeting took place.

Due to the Worshipful Master Bro. Clive Butterworth being unable to attend W.Bro. Peter Hegarty Past Grand Standard Bearer, (Deputy District Grand Prefect for East Lancashire) was requested to take the chair as Master for the evening, his answer was no problem, when the Lodge was opened and the Council business attended to, all present were treated to a paper which had been reserched by W.Bro. Raymond Pye.

W.Bro. Pye then delivered his paper entitiled “The Life and Times of Saint Lawrence the Martyr” this was very well received by all present.

Can I say if any Council has not got a ceremony to do, it would be an idea to get in touch with W.Bro. Pye and ask him to attend your meeting and give the paper, I am sure you will not be disapointed.

The rest of the business was then conducted and the Lodge was closed in Peace, Love and Harmony at 7-30pm by command of the Worshipful Master for the evening W.Bro.Peter Hegarty.

After the meeting all then retired to the dining room for a very well prepared Christmas festive board consisting of a very filling Minastrone Soup followed by a Turkey dinner with all the trimings and then Christmas Pudding with a very rich Brandy sauce, at the festive board we were joined by W.Bro. Stephen Pemberton who had not made it in time for the Lodge having taken a wrong turning ending up in the cemetary, (not the first to do this I might add). after the meal lots of chats, before wending our way back home well satisfied, looking forward to our next meeting.
